The SOLD Project's Resource Center in northern Thailand needs a water tower and filtered water tank to provide year-round access to clean running water for the dozens of kids who attend the facility every day. The center provides after-school programs, tutoring, and other resources to children at risk of child prostitution.
Inconsistent water supply and frequent water pressure issues often leave The SOLD Project's Resource Center, its resident staff, and the dozens of students who attend without access to clean running water, particularly during the dry season.
Installing a water tower and filtered water tank system will allow the Center to treat and store water during the rainy season for the drier months that follow, providing access to clean running water year round. Also, fixing the Center's water supply will help us move forward on plans to add a second classroom building to the property (see Project #8308).
Addressing these areas of need will continue to make The SOLD Project's Resource Center a safe, fun learning environment for children at risk to come every day to meet and play and learn the skills they need to break the cycle of poverty. By investing in these children, we're allowing them to escape a future of exploitation and live a life of freedom and hope.
