To the generous donors of the New Flooring for the VICM campaign,
We are pleased to inform you that since our last report we have completed the flooring in our hall of illusions and music corner. Community volunteers from Liberty Mobile helped us beautify the music corner while learning floor laying skills. Visitors are enjoying the areas of the museum that have new safer flooring and we look forward to completing the remainder of the museum floor in the near future.
The old carpet tiles are a health and safety hazard; the squares are regularly kicked up causing tripping hazards and they are difficult to clean and disinfect. Vinyl plank flooring throughout the museum will give families a safer place to play and make cleaning and maintaining a healthy learning environment an attainable goal for museum staff. We can no longer purchase the needed transition strip pieces required to complete the job on island, therefore, we will be ordering he materials and having them freight forwarded down as soon as possible.
This GlobalGiving campaign is ongoing as we aim to cover the remaining flooring and install transition strips to complete this safety upgrade.
Thank you for helping the Virgin Islands Children’s Museum to improve the safety of the museum while beautifying the space.
Sincerely,
The VICM Team
