Plastic Oceans Chile is a leading foundation dedicated to combating plastic pollution through education, activism and art. We seek to strengthen our team and empower our volunteers so we can keep running our programs and grow. With your support, we can train our team and provide them with the knowledge and skills that they need to lead new initiatives and keep them within our organization, but we also we need to hire new talent to keep developing new programs and collaborations.
Every year, more than 11 million tons of plastic reach the oceans, affecting ecosystems, communities and public health. Raising awareness about this and providing solutions has been our mission and we have achieved many great things with a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals, but new challenges have arisen and they demand us to grow and empower our team. Our main challenge is how to maintain these talents in our organization and train them to become future environmental leaders.
We educate and empower communities through our programs and workshops, but also participate in working groups, coalitions, conferences and more. For this we need a bigger team of volunteers who stay with us for a longer period of time, and also hire dedicated professionals to manage our high level projects responsibly. This requires significant investments and the development of a well coordinated and complete training program about plastic pollution and environmental leadership.
Over the years we have achieved a lot with a small and dedicated team of volunteers and professionals, but times have changed and we struggle to keep up with all that is happening in the world. We seek to strengthen our team and empower new volunteers, train them so they can lead new initiatives, but we also need to hire new talent to communicate our work online, to keep developing new programs and be present in strategic workgroups.
