Health Care for 10,000 Nicaraguan Campesinos

During the past weeks, I had the opportunity to visit our project in Ocotal, Nicaragua, and work closely together with our local team, including the project coordinator, the doctor, and the nurse. This personal visit was very valuable and helped strengthen cooperation and planning for the next steps of the mobile clinic activities.
Together, we reviewed the current situation of the project and discussed possible improvements and future developments. I also inspected our small pharmacy, which was found to be in very good condition and well organized. This ensures that patients continue to receive reliable access to essential medications.
At the moment, consultations are still taking place primarily in our consulting room (consultorio) in Ocotal. We hope that it will soon be possible to resume regular visits to the remote villages again. This will depend largely on the availability of sufficient financial resources. In the meantime, we are also planning gradual improvements and renovation measures.
During my visit, I brought new medical equipment from Germany, including a modern blood pressure monitor and a new otoscope. Both devices are already in use and support the quality of our daily medical consultations. These practical improvements make a real difference for patient care.
We are very grateful for the continued support that makes this work possible and helps us maintain essential health services for rural communities in northern Nicaragua. Thank you for being part of this effort.
