Return to the Communities
This week, our team was able to return to the eleven remote communities we regularly serve. After a longer period during which our doctor, nurse, and coordinator treated patients exclusively in Ocotal, it was an important step for both us and the communities to be back on-site. Many families previously had to travel long distances to receive medical care, and the gratitude for our return was great.

Team and Logistics
For the community visits, our team is joined by our driver, who navigates the often challenging roads safely. To ensure these trips can be conducted reliably, our vehicle was thoroughly overhauled: new shock absorbers, a battery, tires, and other repairs ensure that our mobile clinic can reach the remote areas safely.

Role of Brigadistas
Our Brigadistas continue to play a central role. They served as the link between Ocotal and the villages during the period without mobile visits and now also support us in organizing consultations, informing the community, and assisting with on-site activities.

Impact for the Communities
The return of the mobile clinic means that medical care is once again delivered directly to the people — reliably, free of charge, and close to home. It not only strengthens the communities’ trust in our project but also significantly improves the living conditions of many campesino families.

Our project in northern Nicaragua continues to operate steadily despite ongoing challenges. While we are currently unable to travel to the remote villages, our team remains active and available in our temporary consultation space ("consultorio") in Ocotal. Patients from the surrounding areas continue to come to us for free medical care.

We are in regular contact with our network of brigadistas—local health volunteers—who assist with follow-up care in the villages and help patients reach us in Ocotal when necessary. This close collaboration is essential in maintaining access to healthcare for people in isolated communities.

At the moment, our greatest challenge is financial. The legal transition we are undergoing, along with the planned renovation of a new consultorio, requires resources we currently do not have. Funding is tight, and we urgently need donations to continue our work without interruption.

Our team remains unchanged, deeply motivated, and highly committed. We are proud of the work we do and grateful for the trust of the patients we serve—people who would otherwise have little or no access to medical care.
