Severe Windstorm Damage at the Sanctuary - We Need

By Rebecca Chidley | Volunteer

Recently, a powerful windstorm swept through the Sanctuary, bringing intense gusts that hit much harder than anyone expected. The force of the wind brought down trees, scattered debris across the grounds, and damaged several areas of the property. It was a frightening moment for everyone here, as we worked quickly to assess the situation and check on all the animals. Despite the destruction, we’re incredibly grateful that all of our resident cats came through the storm safe and unharmed.

The impact on our facilities, however, has been significant. Fallen trees caused structural strain in different zones, and several sections of the Sanctuary now require urgent attention. These repairs were not anticipated in our yearly planning, and addressing them will require additional materials, time, and hands-on work. As we begin to clear the damaged areas and start rebuilding, our team is more determined than ever to restore the Sanctuary to a safe, stable environment for every animal in our care.
