Nabela Noor is a first-generation Bangladeshi-American creator, activist and entrepreneur. Nabela and her partner, Seth, began developing the Noor House Scholarship Program following a 2019 trip to Bangladesh where they visited JAAGO Foundation School. Committed to making a difference, they launched Noor House with a personal sponsorship of 20 girl students through graduation. Nabela is opening the program to her global audience to join in supporting Noor House for a lasting difference.
Every girl deserves to find success and live out her dreams. In Bangladesh, many women suffer discrimination, abuse and are simply disregarded. There is limited opportunity for girls to reach their full potential due to cultural norms and systems that may violate a girl's right to a fulfilling, and educated life. From the threat of child marriage to expectations of living a domesticated life looking after her family, patriarchal ideologies hinder their rights and opportunity for growth.
Noor House aims to improve and uplift the lives of disadvantaged girl children with a special emphasis on girls' education and nourishment. Noor House provides impoverished young girls with the opportunity and resources to break the cycle of poverty by equipping them with free education and resources they need to thrive through our Noor House Scholarship Program powered by JAAGO Foundation.
Through this project, the underprivileged girl students within the Noor House program will have a greater chance of escaping poverty, raise the standard of living within their communities and have healthier and productive lives. With a rightful education, they will acquire the knowledge and skills to make wise decisions and be self-sufficient empowered young women.
