Introduction

Not for Sale, Rescuing Victims of Human Trafficking is a Project of Rescue Foundation.  It is being implemented through their 4th Protection Home in Delhi.  

This Project has been set up to care for children from in and around the city of Delhi.  Its a Govt Licenced Home to Rehabilitate, Rescue and Reintegrate Children who are in need of Care & Protection. 

The Project operates through a Investigation & Rescue Team, the Protection Home Team along with the Govt. bodies set up to protect children from abuse and exploitation.

We see mostly children from abusive families, runaway children, those who are exploited sexually or are engaged in factories, hazardous industires.

Investigations & Rescue

During the reporting period from Sept. 2024 to Dec.we have conducted rescue operations in Bihar, Delhi and the neighbouring areas.  Most of the girls rescued were Minors below the age of 18 years.  These children had been lured to be part of dancing Orchestra, promised some cash to their parents but were trapped, exploited abused both physically and sexually.

Rehabilitation at the Home

As the Home is meant for Minors who are abused and exploited, we see a steady admission of children who have been abused, exploited in factories.  These admissions were done either by the Local Police or the Child Welfare Committees.

Counselling

Children are counselled as and when needed.  There is a daily mentoring and counselling of children. During the Family Visits, parents are also counseled to render proper care and protection of the children post their handing over.

Regular family visits are encouraged to build and maintain amicable relationship. 

Vocational Training

The Home has instructers who conducted training on regular basis tailoring, beautician, computers, English Speaking, Coaching of School Subjets.  Every month we have 60 plus children who attend these classes.  Besides these the children are also engaged in Art & Craft Sessions.

Awareness On Social, Legal & Health Issues

This quarter the Home conducted session on Child Marriage, Freedom of our Country, Career Counselling, Anger Management and Digital Scams

Celebrations

Diwali, Teachers Day, Founders Day and Christmas was celebrated with songs, dance, message of the Day and some good food for the Children. Several activities were conducted during the Veer Bal Diwas

Exposure/Outing

A Day of Outing was organized by the Shelter Team.  All the children were taken to India Gate for a special day out which included studying the history of India Gate, Nehru Planetarium, Birla Mandir and Rail Museum. They had fun and good food.

Monitoring Visits from the Govt Dept.

Monthly visits are conducted by the District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committees.

Regular follow up and visits were conducted by the Protection Home Staff to various govt. departments for orders, follow up on compensation.  Some visits were conducted to Schools and Hospitals for the children

Conclusion

We are grateful to our donors who have come forward to support this project.  We have seen so many children who have been sucessfully rescued, rehabilited and restored back to their families.
