This project will provide nutritious meals, snacks and fruit to over 100 refugee and underserved girls aged 8-18 in East Amman, Jordan. Many come from low-income families and arrive at sessions without having eaten, affecting their ability to learn and participate. In 2025, Squash Dreamers provided 7,915 meals, with 100% of mothers reporting that their daughters benefited. This support ensures girls have the energy to learn, play sport and thrive.
In East Amman, refugee and underserved girls aged 8-18 from low-income families face barriers to adequate nutrition, education and safe spaces. Before joining Squash Dreamers, 62.7% of parents reported their daughters ate only 1-2 full meals a day. Some girls arrived hungry and fainted during sessions. Hunger affects their ability to concentrate, learn and participate fully.
Squash Dreamers will provide nutritious meals, snacks, water and fruit to over 100 refugee and underserved girls aged 8-18 in East Amman. Each session serves around 50 girls, with a meal provided at the end of every session. This ensures girls do not participate while hungry and have the energy to learn, play sport and engage in wellbeing activities. In 2025, we provided 7,915 meals and will continue this support through donor funding.
The project will improve food security for over 100 refugee and underserved girls each year. Regular nutritious meals will reduce hunger, helping girls concentrate, participate fully and benefit from education, sport and wellbeing activities. It will also reduce pressure on low-income families. By meeting a basic need, the project helps girls stay engaged in the programme, build confidence and pursue longer-term educational opportunities.
