The joy of Stephanie

Milk powder and our kids
Milk powder and our kids

Our project managers will be leaving in some weeks for their trip to Benin!

They will of course make a stop in the regions of Zou and Atacora, where Aleimar is managing the project ‘Nurse me’. The managers are going to monitor the project as well as distribute milk powder and other staples.

In the meanwhile, what is going on in the Hospital of Tanguieta and in the three accomodation centres?

Holidays are over and kids are finally coming back!

Stephanie is coming back too!

Stephanie is a lovely 5 years-old girl, hosted in our Natitingou centre.

She arrived in our centre only few months old: her mother died in childbirth, her dad is a nomadic herdsman. She was in desperate conditions, sick and undernourished, weighting 2,5kg only, with the doctors saying she had next to zero hope.

Love, care, attention and milk powder worked wonders.

5 years later, Stephanie is a wonderful kid. Vibrant, lively, tall and beautiful. Nice with everyone. A good and hardworking student, as well as a great friend.

For the first years of her staying at the centre, she was nearly abandoned by her family. But right when our hopes were running aground, her dad begun visiting her regularly. What a joy to see Stephanie jumping into his arms. Seeing the father and the daughter playing and cuddling each other really makes us hope that soon the he will welcome Stephanie back, and that they will become a family again.

Stephanie was rescued thanks to the project ‘Nurse me’, but there are many other kids experiencing the same, if not worst, condition. Much is still be done to fight malnutrition in Benin and save innocents babies like Stephanie from hunger.

By supporting and donating to ‘Nurse me’ you can really make a difference. You can do it here
