Dear Donors,
in November Aleimar will come back to Benin for the periodic monitoring trip! Our volunteers and Country Managers Antonio and Piero will go once again to Benin in order to visit our local representatives and our children. Piero, thanks to his experience of former doctor in Italy, will have the opportunity to monitor the health conditions of all the children supported by Aleimar’s projects in the country. Moreover, their presence in the family homes that collaborates with Aleimar will allow them to deliver all the milk bought directly on the field thanks to your donations.
This activity is really fundamental for the most vulnerable children in Benin. Great progress has been made in order to fight against food insecurity and malnutrition. However, one of the main problems observed in local hospitals with which Aleimar collaborates is maternal and child malnutrition. According to UNICEF, malnutrition is one of the primary causes of death among children under 5 years: stunting hits 32% of children, 5% is affected by acute malnutrition and there is a great difference between the data collected in the north and in the south of the Country. In the north, in Atakora, Alibori and Borgou Districts 40% of children is sick because of chronic and recurring malnutrition. Pandemic and international wars have worsened the general life conditions of children in Benin and access to food is always harder in rural areas.
Thanks to your support we can make the difference!
Thank you!
