Nurture 200 dreams, Give a child a chance

Every child deserves to grow up in an environment where they are protected from violence, exploitation, abuse, neglect and harmful practices. Yet children living in poverty can face increased vulnerability because families may lack the resources, information and support necessary to protect them.

The Nurture 200 Lives Program will strengthen child protection and safeguarding mechanisms for 200 vulnerable children in communities in Uganda. The initiative will work with children, parents, caregivers, schools, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders to promote safer environments.

Children will receive age-appropriate information about their rights, personal safety, trusted adults, reporting mechanisms and how to seek help when they experience or witness abuse. Parents and caregivers will be supported with knowledge about positive parenting, child protection and responsible caregiving.

The program will also promote community awareness so that child protection becomes a shared responsibility rather than an issue addressed only after harm occurs. Where concerns are identified, appropriate referrals will be made to qualified services and authorities in accordance with safeguarding procedures.

Donor support will enable us to strengthen awareness, community engagement, training and referral pathways that can help prevent harm before it happens.

Protecting a child is one of the most important investments society can make. When children feel safe, they are better positioned to learn, develop relationships, express themselves and pursue their dreams.
