THE POWER OF A MEAL TO CHANGE A LIFE

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

A nutritious meal may seem simple, but for a girl facing hunger, it can be the difference between dropping out and staying in school. It can mean the difference between hopelessness and opportunity.

Because of your support, girls across rural Uganda are receiving the nourishment they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

This reporting period brought encouraging progress. Teachers observed improved attendance, stronger concentration, and greater participation among students receiving school meals. Girls are spending more time learning and less time worrying about hunger.

Families facing economic hardship continue to benefit significantly from the program. Parents frequently tell us that school meals have eased financial pressure while motivating them to keep their daughters in school. Many have seen improvements not only in academic performance but also in confidence and emotional well-being.

What makes this impact so meaningful is its long-term potential. Educated girls are more likely to earn sustainable incomes, raise healthier families, and contribute positively to their communities. A single meal today can create opportunities that last a lifetime.

Thank you for recognizing the power of a meal to change a life. Your generosity is helping girls remain in school, believe in their potential, and build futures filled with hope and possibility.
