Nyanya is a densely populated urban slum in Abuja with over 50,000-70,000 households. Many families struggle with hunger, sickness, and poor living conditions. This project will support 5,000 households with raw food packages they can cook at home. Alongside food support, we will run basic health programs such as malaria testing, mosquito net distribution, and illness screening, rolled out area by area across Nyanya.
Nyanya families live in overcrowded conditions and share poorly maintained toilets. This leads to frequent sickness such as malaria, typhoid, and stomach infections. Many households cannot afford food or medical checks. Children and adults fall sick often, miss work or school, and remain trapped in hunger and poor health. The dense population makes disease spread fast without support.
The project will distribute raw food packages to vulnerable households so families can cook safely at home. Health activities will include malaria testing, mosquito net distribution, and basic disease checks. Activities will be carried out step by step across Area A, B, and C-F to reach families fairly. Local volunteers will support household registration and safe distribution.
Families gain steady access to food and basic health support. Illness caused by hunger and poor hygiene reduces. Children and adults become stronger and miss fewer school and work days. Community awareness around hygiene and disease prevention improves. The area-by-area rollout builds trust and allows continued support for households most in need across Nyanya.
