It’s Climate Week NYC and we’re inviting you to a climate and culture solutions tour - come on outside with us as the week winds down on Sunday, Sept 28th. RSVP at bit.ly/GM928tour
Since our newest Green Map is of Passive House buildings in NYC, our tour starts at noon at ABC No Rio, a Passive House culture space under construction at 156 Rivington. We’ll see community gardens, energy sites and more in this storied neighborhood as we head toward East River Park during the community celebration of the newly opened elevated south end of the East Side Coastal Resilience project. Please RSVP!
This 2 hour walking tour also marks the last day of the community gardens’ Harvest Arts Festival and you can head to the closing party hosted by LUNGS later on. So much goodness! Wendy will also be taking part in the Solar Pavillion celebration in La Plaza (9th & C) at 6PM on September 27th.
There’s a new Green Map taking shape at the Harbor School on Governors Island again this Climate Week (see 2024’s here - our News section is full of inspiring mapping and outcome stories). As seen in this photo shared by the school, the students are using bicycles and the Green Map Platform, our open source collaboration resource, which has users all over the world.
Want to know more? We host an online Open Hour at 11 AM on the first Weds of every month - RSVP for Oct 1st at bit.ly/GMooh25 (find our events at GreenMap.org/explore/all-events). Let’s meet up during Climate Week or reach out to info@greenmap.org anytime!
Yes, there is a second opportunity to take a similar walking tour during the Lower East Side Arts & Culture Open House on Saturday October 18, starting at 2PM. Get details and RSVP at bit.ly/GM1018tour
At Green Map, we are part of a widespread movement for a better common future. Get involved from where you live! You can be sure that Green Map will continue its work on behalf of local leadership, and greener, healthier communities everywhere.
Your support is always welcome!
