Education is the way we save our Ocean

Dear Supporters,

Over the years our project has seen how successful we have been in creating young ambassadors to help save our ocean through some great outreach and roadshows in partnership with the local aquarium. Due to COVID-19 our project came to an unexpected stop and we have been working around the clock going online and we are excited to launch a very special program for every age group.

Not able to get into local schools we have been busy over the lockdown working with the local Aquarium and key influencers to create a number of online activities from sea life puppet shows for the younger generation to fully qualified 8 week courses to train local people to really become ambassadors of our ocean.

This is incredible and with your donations along with a special match funder we have raised £2,500 to turn into scholarships for these township students that would never be able to afford such a program. These courses are innovative and include live streaming so come at a cost and our local partners have ensured to keep this at an absolute minimum for us and our network of students that show the potential to influence their peers and local community.

As schools begin to open we will look to bring outreach back to life but first we need to actively fundraise for a new bus as our old one sadly broke down a few months ago. A new van is essential to this project so our team can setup and transport some live ocean life to the schools and make the whole experience more engaging and real. We have costed up a new outreach bus and it will cost us around 450,000 Rand ($26,000) which is a huge amount but the impact this makes over the next 10-15 years across South Africa is unbelievable. We personally thank you for your support to this project and as we start to fundraise for our new bus I encourage you to help us by sharing our project with your network and if you can please donate again.

Thank you

With Gratitude,

Ocean in Motion
