Seeing is Learning
By Lloyd | Project Volunteer
Hi All,
While we fight daily to fund education for children living in poverty we know the importance of ensuring we provide the best quality education from a young age.
Therefore through this program and using your amazing donation gifts we are able to fund an annual conservation book drive where in September 2023 we funded 250 books that we delivered to 50 primary schools, it is a great small step introducing conservation at a young age however our 2024 fundraising we only have 30USD so we really need help to fundraise for this.
As well as books we also partner with the local aquarium and game farms that offer free access and tours to our children and we cover the transport to get the children out the classroom and see the amazing life on the door step. We hope this awareness we build ambassadors to protect the planet in all areas of the world.
Our big dream one day is to purchase our own bus so we can really increase our impact across South Africa!
Thank You,

Under the Sea.. Who is there?
By Marike | Conservation Volunteer For Africa
Dear Supporters,
I am really excited by how much you have supported us with our project over the years. With your support we have educated thousands of young children and also inspired hundreds to follow a new found passion to protect and promote our ocean and seas around the world.
In 2023 we had donations come through in stages so we struggled to setup a structured monthly engagement plan due to not having regular funding however this didn't stop us. Over the last 3 months we managed to purchase conservation books for under-privileged primary schools that helped leaders, teachers read and talk to their class about wildlife for the first time, many of these children have never seen the ocean although they live right next them in Africa!
Alongside this we partnered with the local Aquarium charity that offer staff coming into our school providing outreach lessons in the community and then also provided free entry into the Aquarium so we just had to cover the transport with your donations.
Working together we really impacted many children and these partnerships are helping us do more and therefore we are excited to continue our work in 2024. Our biggest dream for 2024 is to fundraise for an outreach bus as we would love to be able to cut our transportation costs and run these amazing educational tours ourselves. To do this we would need to fundraise 500,000ZAR for a 18 seater mini bus and this is about $26,000, we know it is a huge target but it is giving us focus for 2024 so watch this space!
We wish you a successful 2024 and we hope you continue on our amazing journey with us!
Thank You
Marike

Save The Oceans
By Vuyo Mngomezulu | Personal Assistant to the CEO
Dear Supporters,
South Africa is a beautiful country, but it is also facing a serious problem of plastic and waste pollution. Everywhere I go, I see trash on the streets and on the beaches, threatening the environment and the wildlife.
The solution is simple: education. The children are the future, and they need to learn about the importance of keeping the ocean clean and healthy. That’s why we partner with the local aquarium to bring the ocean alive for them. We send experts to schools to teach them about the marine life and the human impact on it. We also take them to the aquarium to see the wonders of the ocean for themselves.
In 2022, we reached over 300 schools and brought 24 of them to the aquarium. The results were amazing. The children became more aware and responsible. They started recycling and spreading the word. Some of them even dreamed of becoming marine conservationists. But we need your help to continue this project in 2023 and beyond.
Together, we can make a difference, but we need your support and donations. Please join us in this mission to bring the ocean alive for the children of South Africa.
We appreciate your support!
