Agavi: Brazilian Forest Schools Digitalization

Greetings all,

Over the past few months, our team has been busy with the design of Agavi and converting the designs into code.  The work, as always, is challenging with a remote team, but we are progressing.  We anticipate that we'll be able to begin testing with the Agavi prototype by March or April of 2026, depending on the rate of progress over the next few months.  Meanwhile, we conducted a site visit with our Brazilian colleagues in Guapiruvu in November.  We explored the structure of extension education with professors and students from UNICAMP and discussed how we can set up analog-digital learning spaces as we enter 2026 and the beginning stages of Agavi testing.

Greetings all,

Over the past few months, we've assembled our coding and design team for the Agavi app, who are now hard at work building the app.  Our team consists of designers Diana (Romania) and Lara (Brazil), who have been working on the user interface that teachers will be using when constructing their lessons, and the Brazilian programming team consisting of Aline, Ana Clara, Daniela, Guilherme, and João, who have been working on the codebase that will support the learning app.  We've seen some incredible designs and prototypes so far that are simple, easy to use, but will allow for the creation of powerful activities.  Over the next few months, the work will accelerate, as the basic user interface designs are finished and now the real coding begins.  Stay tuned for more updates soon!
