Summary

Wildlife on Ol Pejeta faces increasing threats from climate change, poaching and more. Home to 167 black rhinos - the largest population of black rhinos in East and Central Africa, as well as the last two northern white rhinos, Ol Pejeta is one of the most important wildlife conservancies in the world. By monitoring wildlife, engaging with the community and ranger patrols, our teams work 24/7 to safeguard these rhinos. Your support is urgently needed so that we can continue these key programs.

Challenge

Biodiversity loss, climate change and increasing competition for natural resources are a few of the challenges facing rhinos on Ol Pejeta. Compounded by the socio-economic fallout of the global pandemic, the risk of poaching remains high and immediate. These pressures are threatening the viability of ecosystems to sustain both endangered wildlife and vulnerable communities, and our ability to sustain operations.

Solution

Your support is crucial to enable us to keep our rhinos and wildlife safe and local communities supported. Through a myriad of solutions such as effective water management, ranger training, wildlife conservation, education and community engagement, Ol Pejeta works to address these challenges. By investing today, you are directly contributing to conservation efforts for a species that is globally relevant to biodiversity of the planet.

Long-Term Impact

The resulting impact will benefit 213 rhinos - 17% of Kenya's rhino population. As Ol Pejeta seeks to conserve biodiversity for future generations, your support will directly contribute to the long-term protection of these rhinos, so they may thrive, and populations ultimately grow.
