International Olympiad - Thirteenth Report

By Adriana Gutierrez Galicia | Project Manager

By law, July is now the National Month of Scientific Olympiads, a milestone that celebrates the power of academic competitions to transform the lives of young talents in Brazil. Aligned with this purpose, the Alpha Lumen Institute opens doors to the future, turning curiosity and critical thinking into real-world solutions.

Here are the main initiatives that bring our students closer to science, technology, and social impact:
  • Brazilian Technology Olympiad (OBT): Encourages computational thinking to solve real everyday problems.
  • International Olympiad of Mathematics and Knowledge (OIMC): Values logical reasoning through a multidisciplinary journey.
  • Brazilian Social Entrepreneurship Olympiad (OBES): Inspires young people to create innovative projects for their own communities.
  • International Olympiad of Diplomatic Knowledge (MUNdiALPHA): Develops leadership, negotiation, and international cooperation skills.
Additionally, in July, we host the Advanced School of Technology (EAT): a hands-on immersion where medalists from these olympiads receive mentorship from experts and co-create innovative solutions.

The 6th edition of the OIMC, to be held between late October and early November 2026, is organized by the Instituto Alpha Lumen and brings together students from across Brazil and Portuguese-speaking countries. The initiative aims to foster interest in mathematics, logical reasoning, and collaborative learning.

To help more young people discover their potential and build a more inclusive and tech-driven future, the support of partners and donors is vital. Invest in the transforming power of education!
