Dear donor,
Greetings! I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support towards the One Egg Project. I am delighted to present to you the second-half report of the One Egg Project for 2024.
The One Egg Project kicked off its sponsorship for the autumn semester of 2024, reaching out to 12 provinces across the country. Collaborating with 122 organizations, we have successfully supported 1761 schools, benefiting a total of 219582 teachers and students.
Project Updates:
In August, we completed the screening of applicant schools, and it is estimated that 117,000 teachers and students (subject to the actual number of students enrolled at the beginning of the school year) will receive funding from the "One Egg per Day" project in the 2024 autumn semester. Meanwhile, the project team is also actively preparing for the upcoming 99 Public Welfare Festival, hoping that more caring individuals will pay attention to the issue of rural children's nutrition and health, and jointly provide children with the strength to grow.
In September, as children gradually returned to school, the funding work for the 2024 autumn semester officially commenced. The "One Egg per Day" project will continue to bring care to more than 100,000 teachers and students across 12 provinces, including Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shanxi, Hunan, Henan, and Guangxi. We are grateful for the support of all donors!

Project Story:
The teacher handed out eggs one by one to the children. Xiaocuomao looked at the egg in his hand, hesitating a bit, unsure of how to eat it. Several other children around him were also holding eggs, looking at him with smiles.
This scene took place in the kindergarten of Guashize Village, located at an altitude of around 3,000 meters and inhabited by Tibetan people. Their usual staple foods include tsampa, milk, potatoes, steamed buns, and noodles, while eggs and fresh vegetables are relatively scarce. The kindergarten only provides lunch for children in the senior class, while those in junior and middle classes need to go home for meals. Due to their dietary habits, eggs are not commonly found on their dining tables.
In the classroom, the children sat in a circle on small benches, eagerly awaiting their new friend for the day. As the teacher approached with a basin of boiled eggs, she smiled and said, "Kids, today our kindergarten has a new friend called 'Egg'. Eating it will make us grow stronger." She handed out eggs one by one to the children. Xiaocuomao looked at his egg with a hint of hesitation, unsure of how to eat it. Several other children around him also held their eggs, smiling and watching but not taking action.
The teacher looked at the children who were at a loss, and carefully taught them to gently tap the eggs against the table a few times before peeling off the shells. The children imitated the teacher's actions, carefully holding the eggs in their hands and peeling off the shells bit by bit, as if treating them like precious and novel toys. After peeling, the white and tender eggs were rubbed a few times in their little hands before being slowly brought to their mouths. Xiaocuomao, like the other children, gently tapped open the shell, picked up the egg, and savored it bite by bite, worried that it would be gone soon. The volunteer sister asked her, "Is it delicious?" She ate the egg while showing a shy smile. When all the children had finished their eggs, Zhaxi ate so quickly that the yolk fell onto his clothes. He carefully picked up the yolk from his clothes and gently put it into his mouth. The teacher had taught them that food should not be wasted, and it was a pity to waste such delicious eggs.
Thank you once again for being a part of this meaningful endeavor. We will continue to provide project feedback, and we hope everyone can do their utmost to help the children.
