The Progress of the One Egg Project in Q2

By FANGZHENG YIN | Project Specialist

The Power of One Egg | Q2 2025 Feedback Report

As summer approaches, the sound of cicadas and the earnest hope of children echo through the mountains. From April to June 2025, the "One Egg" project has continued to connect urban kindness with rural childhoods through the humble egg, delivering nutrition and warmth to children in 11 provincial administrative regions in central and western China. Over these three months, 98,383 teachers and students have gained strength through one egg, and 5,665,791 eggs have crossed mountains and seas, transforming into nourishment for growth. Below is a warm summary of the project's achievements this quarter.

Project Data (April to June 2025 Summary)

Coverage Area 11 provincial administrative regions, 38 partner institutions

Execution Scale: 38 first-line public welfare institutions | 776 schools | 98,383 beneficiaries (students + staff) | 2,160,387 eggs

Quarterly Total Distribution: 5,665,791 eggs

Stories About the Eggs:

Dual Nourishment from Nutrition to the Heart The Egg Guardians in the Mountains

At the Gudeke Kindergarten in Gucang Town, Gude County, Qinghai Province, located in a mountain valley at an altitude of 3,000 meters, Teacher Ge Dan travels over 100 kilometers per week to bring eggs to the mountainous area. He is not only the head of the kindergarten and the security guard, but also the "exclusive nutritionist"—from repairing electrical circuits to installing surveillance systems, from cooking eggs to using eggshells to teach math, he says, "As long as there are children, I am here." Eggs are not just food; they have become educational tools for children to explore the world. The "yolks" molded from colored clay on eggshells represent their most genuine imagination of the future.

Project Implementation Updates: From "Delivering Eggs" to "Growth Together" Capacity Building:

In April, the hub institution access and exit review was conducted, establishing execution guidelines for the new academic year. In May, an "Execution Institution Experience Sharing Session" was held, with three institutions from Gansu Province sharing their management and communication experiences. In June, the "Spring Semester Project Completion and Financial Management Training" was organized, systematically explaining the requirements for material preparation and financial management to enhance partners' professional capabilities.

On-site Visits: In April, the joint fundraising team visited the Zhongtou Kindergarten in Yunnan Province's Yangyang Community Development Center, conducting school interviews and home visits to understand children's nutritional needs. In May, Shanghai Hesai Technology visited the Xinzheng Kindergarten in Yunnan Province and shared interactive classes with the children. In June, the team visited the Shangmatai Kindergarten in Changguan Town, Gansu Province, witnessing the children creating rainbow collages using eggshells—eggs are not only food, but also have become the key to unlocking imagination.

County-Level Model Exploration: In June, the signing of "One Egg in Taliang" and "Ludian County-Level Collaboration" was initiated, exploring more systematic and sustainable pathways for supporting the nutrition of rural children.

Project Communication: Making Kindness Visible This quarter, "One Egg" has spread warmth through cross-platform collaboration: In April, the "Most Beautiful Local Food" painting activity reached 320,000+ views, with mountain children's drawings of Guizhou spicy chicken and Gansu wheat flour dumplings becoming "love letters to their hometowns"; In May, the project jointly promoted the 520 Nutrition Day campaign with nutritionist Gu Zhongyi, and the Bilibili video of "a day as a principal" received 1.3 million+ views; In June, the project participated in Tencent's "Guarding Children's Hearts" Charity Festival, with 104 large advertising screens in Shanghai and Changsha commercial areas highlighting the nutritional needs of rural children, inviting donors to experience "a day as a principal" in Gansu Province and using real-life stories to evoke emotional resonance.
