Opoku Junior begs for a last chance

At Adjah Cancer Support Ghana, we continue to meet children whose courage inspires us every day — children like Opoku Junior (not his real name).

Opoku is a 10-year-old boy fighting a rare form of blood cancer. His mother brought him to us in tears, desperate for help after months of traveling between hospitals without the means to continue treatment. Thanks to the support we’ve received through this GlobalGiving project, Adjah Cancer Support Ghana was able to provide part of his medical bills, transportation to the treatment center, and nutritional support during his hospital stay.

While Opoku’s battle is far from over, his condition has improved, and his smile has returned — a small but powerful reminder of what your donations make possible.

We are currently working to raise additional funds to ensure Opoku and other children like him can complete their treatment and have a real chance at recovery. Every contribution brings hope, strength, and life to a child who refuses to give up.

Thanks to your donations, we’ve been able to assist with parts of his treatment—covering medical tests, medications, and transportation to the cancer center. His mother is overwhelmed with gratitude knowing that strangers care so deeply about her son’s life.

But Opoku Junior’s journey is not over. He still needs urgent support to continue chemotherapy, manage side effects, and undergo additional procedures. Without consistent funding, his care may be delayed and in his condition, every day matters.
