It's that time of year here at The Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission. We are pulling out the decorations, dusting off our tree and preparing to wrap another boat load of presents! The Christmas celebrations are about to begin! It's no small job! There are 68 children, 55 Staff and volunteers and around 60 expected visitors! There are gifts and clothes to buy treat bags and stockings to fill, picnics, special meals, fireworks and decorations. All for around 200 people!
If you find it challenging to host a nice Christmas for you and your family, imagine if you had nearly 200 coming over to celebrate! Christmas is a special time for all of us, where children from our orphanage both old and current come together as one family to celebrate the season. For most of us it is our favorite time of the year! Of course this all comes at a cost, and this is where we hope you come in.
This year it is our wish that you might be able to help us give these amazing children another Christmas to remember. We are looking to raise $5000 to cover the costs of Christmas. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STRETCH GOAL! Thanks to the incredible support of 42 different donors we have now hit our $5000 mark. We have now stretched our goal by an additional $2200 in the hopes of giving each of our kids $35 to get a new set of clothes to wear on Christmas Day.
Childhood is made of memories, and it is our goal to create as many positive memories for our children as possible. The long-term impact, then, will be felt when our kids look back years from now on this special time. Our hope is they will remember the fun, the excitement, the feeling of family, and the joy that they had. With your help, we'll make this a Christmas to remember. Thanks for being a part of it.
