Summary

OSCASI's mission is to provide education to out-of school-children and help transform realities through comprehensive training programs. After 65 years, we continue to invest in the development and improvement of the Petare community, With this project we will provide our 165 students with: -Special education so out-of-school children can complete primary education and continue to study regularly - Individualized health care - Nutrition - Local entrepreneurship trades - Emotional containment

Challenge

The generalized crisis in Venezuela continues to affect the entire country, especially the popular communities, who find themselves in increasingly worse conditions. Children and teenagers have been the most affected and OSCASI has had to evolve and respond to new educational needs surging in the country. The latest ENCOVI results shows that around 1.5 million young people are either not studying or not working ,and most cite inadequacy of the educational model as a motive for not studying.

Solution

In OSCASI we have deleted a unique learning method for out-of-school children, adapted to their conditions and needs. In addition to education, health and nutrition programs, we have incorporated new training programs for our children and teachers. One of the most important are the labor workshops. Training in different trades represents the integration of community work in Alternative Schools and also an opportunitty to develop skills in students that can serve as a means for job placement

Long-Term Impact

Our mission is to comprehensively educate and provide overall care for children and adolescents, promoting development in the communities so they leave our schools prepared, with the necessary tools to continue their studies and enter the working life. In OSCASI we are committed to the development of communities and the transformation of realities, which is why we are dedicated to providing the best training to our students so that they can live the future full of opportunities they deserve.
