This project empowers to adolescent in province 2, Nepal. The primary target beneficiaries will be 4100 targeting to children, parents and priest, teacher by providing the information of child marriage focusing on effects, sexual and reproductive health, legal provision, judicial process etc. in prone area. Massive awareness on child marriage will contribute to control the child marriage. Adolescent will discuss on child marriage within family and friends circles.
Early child marriage is one of key infraction of child rights in province 2, Nepal, is a key indicator of discrimination, reproductive health issues and low literacy level. Traditions of child marriage and dowry weigh heavily against adolescent in southern Nepal. Child marriage robs girls of their childhood and can often inflict emotional stress, mental & physical health problems. Girls are left vulnerable to physical abuse from their spouse and family, in some cases, results in suicide herself.
The adolescent, parents, priestess and community leader will aware and incapacitate on the issue of child marriage and its effect. They will lead to control the issue of child marriage. They will also engage to control the child marriage in their own leadership including community leader and parents, adolescent. Hamro Prayas will do the advocacy to reform law, provision the activities in their policy and program.
Project seeks to change behavior & attitude of adolescent, local government, community regards to child marriage and end the violence against children. Social norms & values will be in favor of children. Community will entertain effective implementations of laws & policies. Stakeholders will be more responsible to control child marriage. Project activities will own by local government and communities. Girls will lead social activities in coordination with governing bodies.
