The Outpost USA project is a Medic Outpost effort to provide emergency medical training and equipment to rural first responders in the United States. Outpost USA will provide personal protective equipment devices such as Covid Intubation boxes, ambulance safety tents, and hospital emergency room tents to first responder teams and rural hospitals. Medic Outpost will provide basic and advanced EMS training to first responders, volunteer EMS and Fire departments, and rural hospitals in need.
Rural healthcare and EMS is underserved in the US. These regions have low budgets and work a mostly volunteer basis. First Responders in these rural systems find it difficult or impossible to get basic and advanced training to keep their skills sharp and fulfill state requirements. When the do find training, it is often expensive and difficult to complete. Personal protective equipment is always in short supply in rural areas and often EMS services and rural hospitals have to go without.
Medic Outpost will provide training and certification in PHTLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, CPR and other training topics to rural first responder groups at minimal or no cost based on need. Medic Outpost will provide rural EMS services and hospitals will Covid 19 protective devices that are used in the emergency room and in the ambulance to provide protection for first responders and hospital staff during treatment.
The long-term impact of Medic Outpost programs will be seen in highly trained and competent emergency personnel in rural areas. These men and women volunteers will receive professional training and certification from Medic Outpost staff and volunteers in subjects that would not be available to them without this program. Additional initial and refresher training will make first responders more effective in the field and at the hospitals in addition to keeping them safe.
