Outpost USA. Helping our First Responders

Medic Outpost is continuing to develop our first responder and community health training programs in Texas. In 2024 we will begin to implement the training programs that focus on rural emergency and community healthcare. Our goal is to provide badly needed continuing education and new initial training topics to rural EMS and Volunteer fire departments. Access to continuing education and providing up to date courses for these amazing men and women has always been difficult due to the small numbers of volunteers, distance from training resources, and costs. Medic Outpost provides this training at no cost to our partners and this structure allows volunteers to continue to learn and practice their emergency skills in our unique “hands on” learning programs. Our programs are certified by the State of Texas as approved CE programs.

Supporting these programs is critical for the rural population as well as anyone that is traveling in or near these rural counties. Medic Outpost’s community healthcare initiatives continue to provide successful education programs to rural residents that often have limited access to a medical facility and professional medical care. The Outpost programs focus on common chronic health conditions and teach participants how to maintain and manage issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and teach proper use and maintenance of home healthcare devices. Our goal in this program is to improve prevention and compliance with healthcare management plans provided by the participants individual physicians. Many of the rural residents are elderly and live alone. Difficulties in transportation to distant medical facilities often result in not keeping appointments and poor maintenance practices regarding healthcare plans.
