For many adolescent girls in underserved communities, the transition into adolescence is marred by challenges surrounding menstrual hygiene. Access to essential menstrual products and education is often limited, leaving these girls vulnerable and ill-equipped to manage their periods with dignity and confidence.
Enter Bhumi's 'Pad for Pad' campaign, a collaborative effort with Eco Femme to address this critical issue head-on. Education plays a vital role in the campaign, with 2,337 girls attending at least one session across cities to educate girls about their bodies and menstrual hygiene. By providing menstrual health education and 782 pads in Chennai and 534 pads in Banglore to adolescent girls, the initiative seeks to empower them with the tools and knowledge.
The 'Pad for Pad' campaign extends far beyond distributing menstrual products. The initiative directly reaches girls in government schools and ensures that those most in need receive support. Ultimately, this initiative contributes to the larger goal of gender equality and empowerment, paving the way for a future where all girls can embrace their adolescence with confidence and pride, unhindered by barriers to education and well-being.
