Pain relief medication for children with cancer

Not all medications required by children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment can be provided by the Chilean State, some of them are very important to treat pain, so Fundación Nuestros Hijos provides them with the indication of the treating physician.

Héctor,still receives at the Foundation the medicines he needs to control the pain caused by the irritation of the mucous membranes in his nose and mouth due to the chemotherapy treatment. This and other high-cost medicines not provided by the State are given by the Foundation to pediatric patients from vulnerable families during their treatment.

Héctor is a very happy and restless boy. In December 2022, when he was only 6 months old, Hector was diagnosed with cancer, he doesn't know it yet, but at his young age he knows about chemotherapy treatments and the annoying ulcers that the treatment causes in his mouth.

Luckily, there is a treatment with a special medication that helps prevent these painful ulcers, however it is very expensive, that is why Hector's parents turned to Fundación Nuestros Hijos to provide him with this medication, so Héctor can be able to continue enjoying life with the joy that characterizes him and that makes his family so happy.
