Al Mobadara seeks to transform the lives of 200 orphan girls by providing access to education, healthcare, and essential daily support through sponsorship. Many orphaned girls face barriers to schooling, limited opportunities, and heightened vulnerability to poverty and exploitation. By sponsoring their education and well-being, this initiative will ensure that girls not only attend school but also receive the nutrition, clothing, and emotional care they need to thrive.
In Morocco, orphaned girls from poor rural and urban areas face severe barriers to education. Poverty often forces families to withdraw them from school, pushing them into child labor in farms or domestic work where they risk abuse and exploitation. Social norms and economic pressures also drive many into early marriage before 18, cutting short their education and opportunities. These challenges trap them in cycles of poverty, limiting their potential and long-term well-being.
The orphan sponsorship project managed by Al Mobadara across our three Moroccan orphanages has proven to be a powerful intervention against school dropout and early marriage. By ensuring full care, including housing, nutrition, academics, and psychosocial support, our sponsorship initiative empowers vulnerable girls to complete their studies and become self-sufficient members of society.
By providing well-rounded support, including full boarding, nutritious meals, psychosocial guidance, and comprehensive educational follow-up, the orphan sponsorship program implemented by Al Mobadara ensures sustainable outcomes for vulnerable girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. Over time, this investment is expected to foster financial independence among the participants, as they receive the training and educational foundation necessary to secure formal employment.
