Music is the language of the soul…our trainees had the chance to benefit from the skills of Benoît, a musician and singer-songwriter, who joined us in May for a one-month volunteer mission.
The goal of his mission was to delve into the daily life of an association and meet vulnerable audiences. This volunteer mission was a part of his studies in Business School.
Passionate about music, Benoit was keen during his time at SFM to discover and share his passion. And as a passion is often contagious, everyone got in tune... The “Music project” was launched: we now have a piano and two guitars made available to the animators and the public of the association.
With the trainees of the Sociolinguistic Workshops, he offered courses on musical themes, including the discovery of different music (French, cinema, etc.) and a demonstration of musical creation with digital tools.
He has done numerous short concerts with the piano, his favorite instrument, for the children of School Support, and worked more specifically on specific workshops:
- Creation and editing of a podcast: with the children he recorded the texts and put everything to music,
- Emotions workshop: awakening and musical sensitivity. Firstly, the children associated sounds and melodies with the emotions worked on in the workshop, by introducing notions of musical theory: jerky sounds are associated with surprise, while the minor scale with sadness.... During a following session Benoit proposed different sounds and the children described the emotions they felt.
Finally, he created the soundtrack for the film presenting the association. Created by Léandre, our volunteer videographer which is already posted on our website: https://sfm-clichy.fr/
