Hello friends and supporters! Good work continues to go on in Honduras and Haiti but I want to let you know about what is happening in the Dominican Republic. Help is coming!
We have added to our resources an in-country facilitator named Luis who will be able to continue doing great things in the Dominican Republic. Luis put on two projects in the month of October. He tested water and taught 46 students and staff of a school about water quality and bacteria and the cycle of illness. He also went to a village near the Haitian border where he also tested the water and presented to a local community group about the same things. Both communities want Luis to return. The school wants him to return to teach the students who didn’t get a chance to learn the first time, and the 2nd community wants him to return to teach the other members of their community who missed the information.
Additionally to teaching, Luis assembled filter buckets (one bucket for dirty water and one bucket for clean water with a filter in-between to remove bacteria) to both the school and the community. He also donated a bucket/filter system to a children’s community in Haiti.
Luis is a great asset to Agua Puras Para el Pueblo and will continue to bring healthy water to his country and others as well!
