Salud! Health to you!

Salud!  That is the greeting that many people say.  It means ‘Good health to you’.  Agua Pura Para el Pueblo is working so more people can have good health.  We do this by not only providing equipment to people to have clean water, we also educate them on how diseases are spread and help them to develop good habits to have better health.

Each year, the World Health Organization estimates that over 500,000 people die due to contaminated drinking water.  When they become ill, their natural immunity is unable to resist the effects of the disease, and they succumb to the illness.  Thanks to you, you are helping us reduce this number.  We all want to see this number become as small as possible.

In Haiti, our partners continue to work to reduce help people obtain clean drinking water.  They discuss techniques such as filtration, chlorination, and pasteurization. Depending on the location, they then distribute what water purification process the local people wish to use.  If people have the right equipment but don’t want it or know how to use it, they are no better than those without lifesaving equipment.

Thanks again for working with us to bring better health to Latin American countries.  Salud!
