Summary

REAP Rwanda is expanding its Early Childhood Development Program in Musha by constructing two new classrooms and two latrines to meet growing enrollment needs. Since 2019, the program has helped 127 children successfully graduate, providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Supporters can sponsor specific building components, bricks, concrete, windows, doors, or roofing materials, helping create a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment where young children can learn and thrive.

Challenge

In rural Musha, Rwanda, increasing enrollment in REAP Rwanda's Early Childhood Development Program has outgrown existing facilities. Limited classroom space and sanitation infrastructure restrict access to quality early learning for young children. Without additional classrooms and latrines, many children may miss the opportunity to learn in a safe, supportive environment during their most critical years of development.

Solution

This project will expand REAP Rwanda's Early Childhood Development Program by building two new classrooms and two latrines in Musha. The additional infrastructure will create more space for learning, improve sanitation, and accommodate growing enrollment. By providing a safe, healthy, and child-friendly environment, the project will ensure that more young children in the community can access quality early childhood education and develop the skills they need for future success.

Long-Term Impact

Access to quality early childhood education can transform a child's future. Through REAP's innovative How to Read program, children develop strong literacy, cognitive, social, and emotional skills during their most important years of growth. Expanding Ineza Academy will enable more rural children to enter primary school prepared to succeed. Over time, these children are more likely to stay in school, improve their livelihoods, support their families, and help break cycles of poverty.
