Imagine a region half the size of Switzerland, without veterinary clinics or modern shelters. Here in Galati-Braila, ROLDA purchased a 22.1 acre plot. We will build the PawzUp Center, giving hope to the overwhelming number of abandoned animals. We must initially drill wells, insert pipes and pumps, and ensure a stable water supply. This will enable construction, and eventually provide water for the center, creating a safe and hygienic environment for every animal who passes through its doors.
In the region, pets, working animals and over 200,000 strays endure extreme conditions. Severe hunger, illness and neglect mean innocent animals are alone and needlessly dying. Infection and disease is a huge problem. The severe lack of veterinary facilities also means locals can't access medical care for beloved pets. Galati-Braila is one of the poorest regions in Romania, where job opportunities are scarce. Romania has an estimated 2 million seniors who live alone in poverty and depression.
PawzUp Center will provide refuge and care for thousands of animals in need while bringing hope to the local community. From urgent veterinary care and adoption facilities to safe places for exercise and enrichment, every detail has been planned with developers, to support animals and boost local jobs and wellbeing. We've completed designs and phased plans and know exactly what it will take. Raising $25,000 will fund a stable water supply and launch construction of this lifesaving center.
The PawzUp Center will be a lifeline for the innocent animals of Romania, whilst spreading hope within the local community. A stable water infrastructure is the crucial first step that will enable the center to run for years to come, improving the lives of people and animals long into the future. The center will be open to the public 7 days a week, meaning that every single day we can bring animals and people together.
