Summary

At this time, it's easy to pull away in fear & not want to feel anything. Here at PEAC, we ask you to feel all that is happening fully, so we have the information and tools needed to move forward! We are working locally & internationally, pushing for policies that highlight anti-racism and decolonization. We sit on several policy committees at the United Nations and the State & City level. Please help us ensure intersectionality and anti-racism stay at the forefront!

Challenge

OUR HOPE is we can get to a place where letting someone know they're being racist is like telling someone they have lettuce in their teeth. "hey, oh yeah you, you got a little racism on your cheek there. No, no problem, happy to help. Hope someone would tell me if I was walking around with racism on my face!". It's structural, not personal! The more conversations we have about our country, our biases, and how racism shows up in our spaces, the more empathy, and equity we grow!

Solution

OUR APPROACH uses an intersectional lens (looking at many systems and policies across multiple disciplines), and we make sure our solutions are grounded in self-determination, decolonization, and the understanding that no issue can be solved in a silo. We need to learn to sit in discomfort and get through it, not try and bury it or run from it. Discomfort is our warning sign that something is off, not right. Let it become your guide as we move into this new space.

Long-Term Impact

We have all we need to fix our problems, but this will not happen if we are scared of one another and unable to talk. It's essential to make mistakes, that's how we know we're growing. Let us help you on this journey by providing you with the training and tools you'll need to navigate this new space. Your support allows us to continue this vital work! Thank you!!
