Peace Winds disaster responders arrived in Venezuela within 72 hours of the devastating June 2026 earthquakes. Since then, they have helped survivors get emergency medical care, critical hygiene supplies, and hot meals. Our Caracas-based team is now helping survivors recover in some of the hardest-hit communities. Thousands of earthquake survivors have lost their homes and are still living in temporary conditions, often struggling to meet their basic needs. Even many people who were not displaced still struggle to make ends meet because of job loss and financial insecurity, and some of the hardest-hit areas are not receiving enough support. Needs range from basic supplies to psychosocial support as survivors work to rebuild their lives.
Peace Winds has been supporting relief and recovery since the days immediately after the earthquakes. Our teams have provided medical care, emergency supplies, and hot meals to survivors who were sheltering in tent encampments. Now we are working with local partners in the hardest-hit areas to meet families' basic material needs; support psychosocial care for survivors of all ages coping with unimaginable trauma; and support local businesses as they rebuild.
