This scale up project proposal aims at mitigating gender based violence injustice in South Sudan. its noted that GBV escalates during crisis, as the world faces COVID-19 pandemic, intimate partner violence among other vices perpetrated against women and girls are on the rise. Save a Life International intends to construct 3 safe houses with a capacity of 600 women, girls and the disabled. We will as well train men, women and local authorities to be awareness ambassadors against GBV vices.
South Sudan has suffered the longest civil war which forced over 3 million south Sudanese to flee their homes. to date we have over 2 million refugees and numerous Protection of Civilian (PoC) sites. Save a Life International plans to directly impact 2000 women and girls, 300 men and boys, 200 persons living with disability and 4000 indirect beneficiaries living in host community. This is a scale up project for our ongoing GBV project.
Save a Life International provides safe houses for gender based violence victims. Victims are taken through counselling and psychosocial support. Provision of training's to ensure clinical care for sexual assault survivors is available and accessible in health facilities in marginalized rural areas. Conduct protection mainstreaming workshop with all services providers on the integration of protection principles in their day to day work Integrate Covid-19 awareness during the workshops.
Three safe healing and learning spaces are set up and provide psychosocial activities for children and youth. Rehabilitate or construct priority basic service infrastructures (such as water,schools and health centers), in selected areas. Create short-term emergency employment/ livelihoods opportunities for beneficiaries Conduct vocational training, targeting the most vulnerable people, including female household heads, women and the youth
