Progress is coming along on our project to create an HIV educational story for kids and teens that will help them learn more about HIV treatment and how to stay healthy.

Here’s a sneak peek of the story, along with our first color illustration!

A doctor in the story explains:

“There are a few ways the virus can be spread to others. It’s okay to share hugs or kisses, or eat together, because HIV is not spread through sweat or saliva. But you should not share razors or toothbrushes because HIV can be spread through blood. HIV is also spread through sexual activity, so it is important to stay informed and always use protection. If you love someone, it is important to protect them!

“It is equally important to take care of yourself in your life: eat well and sleep well, and visit the doctor often. If you feel sad or worried, you should speak to a friend, family member, or doctor. We are all here to help you! Again, it is most important to always take your medicine.”

Stay tuned as we develop the story.

Your donations will help us print and distribute the story, as well as train teen educators to do outreach with their peers to ensure that young people are getting the care and treatment that they need.

Better yet, today your donation will be matched! Help us empower teens to share HIV education among their peers!
