VIllage Community Meeting

The Wanamulya Community is a grassroots group actively engaged in environmental conservation in the Blora Regency. As part of its commitment to sustainable forest management and community-based livelihoods, the community regularly conducts monthly coordination meetings. These meetings serve as a forum to evaluate ongoing programs, strengthen coordination among members, and jointly plan future activities related to forest conservation, local economic development, and forest area management.

Activity Implementation

The Monthly Village Community Meeting was held on January 11, 2026, and was attended by 23 participants, all of whom are members of the local farmer group involved in conservation and community-based economic activities.

The meeting functioned as both a reflection on program implementation throughout 2025 and a participatory planning space for the upcoming year. Discussions were conducted openly and inclusively, allowing members to share experiences, challenges, and proposals.

Key Discussion Points

The meeting covered several main topics, including:

  1. Progress of the Community-Managed Sheep Farming Program
  2. Participants reviewed the performance of the sheep farming initiative implemented during 2025, focusing on livestock management, production outcomes, and its contribution to members’ household income.
  3. Organic Fertilizer Development Initiative
  4. The community discussed plans and early initiatives to develop organic fertilizer to support sustainable agriculture practices around the forest area and reduce reliance on chemical inputs.
  5. Evaluation of Coffee Cultivation under Agroforestry Systems
  6. An evaluation was conducted on the progress of coffee cultivation developed within the village forest agroforestry system, including technical challenges and market potential.
  7. Financial Management Report
  8. A report on the management of members’ collective funds during 2025 was presented as part of the community’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

Follow-Up Plans

In addition to evaluation, the meeting resulted in several forward-looking plans:

  1. Conservation Program Planning for 2026
  2. Participants outlined priorities and directions for community-based forest conservation activities in 2026, including strategies to strengthen member participation and environmental impact.
  3. Advanced Training on Appreciative Village Planning
  4. The community agreed to pursue further training in appreciative village planning to enhance local capacity to influence village-level policies and regulations that support conservation and sustainable forest governance.

Conclusion

This Monthly Village Community Meeting served as a strategic platform for strengthening community cohesion, enhancing collective capacity, and ensuring the continuity of conservation and livelihood programs. Through regular, participatory meetings, the Wanamulya Community continues to reinforce its shared commitment to protecting forest ecosystems while simultaneously improving the sustainable livelihoods of residents in the village.
