Plant Trees Today: Protect Forests for Tomorrow

By Misbachul Munir | Project Staff

Indonesia’s forests are one of the world’s most important ecosystems—yet they are disappearing faster than they can recover. Deforestation, land degradation, and climate change continue to threaten biodiversity, water sources, and the livelihoods of forest-dependent communities.

The Plant 1000,000 Trees in Indonesia Forest project is our response to this urgent challenge.

This initiative goes beyond tree planting. It is about restoring ecosystems, protecting water sources, strengthening community livelihoods, and securing a greener future for the next generation.

Why This Project Matters Now

Every tree planted contributes to:

  • Restoring degraded forest landscapes
  • Improving water retention and reducing disaster risks
  • Absorbing carbon and mitigating climate change
  • Supporting local communities through sustainable land use

Without immediate action, degraded forests will continue to impact food security, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods.

Community-Based Conservation at the Core

This project works hand-in-hand with local communities. Trees are planted not only as forest cover, but as part of long-term conservation and livelihood strategies, including agroforestry and sustainable land management. Communities are involved in nursery development, planting, and forest monitoring—ensuring ownership and sustainability.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Your contribution helps to:

  • Produce and plant high-quality tree seedlings
  • Support community-led nurseries and planting activities
  • Strengthen local capacity for forest protection and monitoring
  • Ensure long-term care and survival of planted trees

Every tree you support is a long-term investment in climate resilience and community well-being.

Be part of restoring Indonesia’s forests—one tree at a time
