When climate disasters strike, forests are our first line of defense.
Across rural Indonesia, deforestation has weakened natural barriers that once protected communities from floods, landslides, and prolonged droughts. Restoring forests is one of the most effective and affordable ways to reduce disaster risks while strengthening livelihoods.
Through this community-led conservation initiative, forests help to:
Stabilize soil and prevent landslides
Protect watersheds and clean water sources
Safeguard farms and food security
Absorb carbon and reduce climate impacts
Putting forests first means putting people first.
Support forests that protect communities from climate disasters.
