In forest-adjacent villages like those in Blora, Central Java, prosperity begins with the land. For many rural families, forests are not distant ecosystems—they are sources of water, soil fertility, and daily income. Yet persistent poverty and environmental degradation often trap communities in a cycle where short-term survival pressures lead to long-term ecological decline.
Planting prosperity means changing that cycle.
Through community-based agroforestry and agrisilviculture systems, farmers integrate coffee, spice crops, timber trees, and multi-purpose tree species within the same landscape. These diversified systems restore soil health, improve water retention, reduce erosion, and strengthen climate resilience—while generating stable and diversified income streams.
To support this transition, livestock incentives such as community-managed sheep farming provide additional household income and produce organic fertilizer, creating a circular agricultural system. Beyond productive agroforestry zones, dedicated conservation areas are being prepared to restore forest ecosystems and protect biodiversity for the long term.
This integrated approach ensures that environmental restoration and economic empowerment move forward together. Trees become productive assets. Forests become sources of dignity. Communities become stewards of sustainable landscapes.
Planting prosperity in forest villages means investing in people, protecting the planet, and building resilient rural futures—one tree at a time.
