Dear Patrons,
Rwanda Youth Development And Voluntary Organization would like to express my deep gratitude for all the support that you have provided so far for our tree planting project hosted at GlobalGiving. On behalf of the Rwandan Youth Development and Voluntary Organization (RWAYDAVO), We thank you very much for all the support that you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project.
We are so glad to share that we are making very good progress in our fundraising, and we are happy to let you know that we are finalizing the land preparation next week we are ready to start the planting activities, for this round we aim to plant 8,000 trees in land five.
We would like also to let you know that after planting trees on land five we will start the preparation of the land donated by the Rulindo district to be planted by RWAYDAVO. On this land, around 10,000 trees will be planted.
I just wanted to take a minute to update you on the efforts we are taking for getting prepared for preparing the fifth land and how our volunteers are working towards that, and provide an update on the planted activities of tree planting next week. The land prepared is located in Taba cell, Colline Mwite village in
Rulindo district of Burega sector, Rwanda. This area’s
Google code is Rwanda: 7299+2X5. To prepare this land we used 16 people and the preparation ook 15 days.
As we completed tree planting for land 5, the next step will be to use the BRC brand fence, to protect the land in which the trees are planted from animals like goats, cows, and sheep, as well as from the disturbances caused by the humans.
After all these activities, we will be doing maintenance. The maintenance will include pruning the area properly to keep the trees healthy and strong, Water is food for our trees and plants – that’s why effective watering is one of the most important ways to care for and maintain, so watering might be needed during the dry season. Also. as the soil compaction prevents water and oxygen from infiltrating the tree’s roots, we will make sure that the soil is not compacted. We will be doing mulch about 6 inches from the base of your tree so that we cannot damage our tree roots.
We wish and hope that through this project, we will be able to make a significant impact
in the lives of the people in the community, and instill the importance of trees in the minds
of the people so that they take care of them on an ongoing basis.
I once again like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support and donations that
you have made for our project, and we look forward to your continued support in the
coming days.
If you wish to start a monthly recurring donation for our project to support our ongoing work,
please feel free to start a monthly recurring donation using the link provided in the link section.
With Best Regards,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
