Dear Patrons,
I am delighted to share a promising update from our nurseries in Rulindo District. Just one month after our last report, our eucalyptus saplings are flourishing beautifully (see attached photos). Their vigorous growth is a testament to our team’s dedication and brings us closer to realizing our ambitious goal of planting and maintaining 50,000 trees across six sectors in Rulindo District.
A Season of Strong Growth
Through consistent watering, careful shading, and nutrient-rich soil management, the seedlings have grown strong and healthy. They have now reached the stage where they are being transplanted into plastic bags ( see attached photos) , a critical step that allows them to continue developing in a controlled environment.
This process helps the saplings establish robust root systems, ensuring that once they are planted in the field during the upcoming season, they will thrive and mature into strong, resilient trees.
Why This Work Matters
Each of these young saplings represents far more than a future tree. They symbolize:
Restored forests that combat deforestation
Protected soils that prevent erosion
Climate resilience for vulnerable communities
Sustainable livelihoods for local families
Your continued support is transforming this vision into a living, growing reality—revitalizing Rwanda’s rural landscapes and strengthening community resilience.
How You Can Help Sustain This Momentum
This success has only been possible because of your generosity. To help these young trees grow into strong, life-giving forests, we kindly invite you to continue supporting this vital work.
Your contributions no matter the size enable us to:
Maintain and care for the nurseries in the months ahead
Continue transplanting saplings into plastic bags and nurturing them
Engage local communities and schools in the tree-planting process
Ensure tree survival through consistent monitoring and follow-up
Together, We Are Planting the Future
On behalf of RWAYDAVO and the communities of Rulindo, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your continued commitment and care. With your partnership, these saplings will grow into resilient forests protecting our land, restoring biodiversity, and empowering generations to come.
With sincere gratitude,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
