Since 2005, your extraordinary generosity has allowed us to plant more than 270,000 trees, breathing new life into communities that need it most. Every single one of those roots represents a shield against the rising threat of floods, cyclones, and natural calamities. Yet, the earth is still calling out for our help. Deforestation continues to leave our landscapes vulnerable, making our shared mission more urgent than ever before.
Trees are the quiet guardians of our planet. They act as nature’s ultimate filter, absorbing up to a ton of carbon dioxide over their lifetimes while giving us the very oxygen we need to breathe. By anchoring the soil, they prevent devastating erosion and reduce the runoff that fuels severe flooding. They build sanctuaries for wildlife, providing food and shelter to countless birds and animals. For local families, planting a fruit tree in a backyard or on unused land is a gift that keeps on giving, offering refreshing shade, cooler air, and a reliable source of extra income.
Science tells us that deforestation drives nearly a quarter of global climate change, which is why major global organizations are rallying behind reforestation. But real, lasting change starts on the ground, powered by compassionate hearts like yours. Planting trees is quite simply the single most effective way we can heal our atmosphere and protect the world for our children and grandchildren.
