To mark Pakistan's 78th birthday, in the month of August Hope Uplift Foundation organized a tree plantation drive with Learning Alliance School and Ghulab Devi Charity Hospital, both located in Lahore. The statistics are as follows:
Total amount spent - PKR 292,000 equivalent to USD 1,050
Trees Planted with Learning Alliance School - 500
Trees Planted with Ghulab Devi Charity Hospital - 1,000
This tree plantation drive is part of our effort to address climate change, especially since Lahore is among the most polluted cities in the world. In the months of October to January, it is blanketed in heavy smog, and Air Quality Index is reported at alarming levels of 1,000+.
We hope that our plantation drive inspires other organizations/individuals to also take part in making our city/country greener.
