The "Play Equity 5,000 Children" project will target children across Metro Manila that lack access to sports and live in poverty. With the help of local running clubs and qualified run coaches, it will train 200 public school teachers to deliver basic running and athletics clinics to children that don't have access to play and sports. It will also provide educational sessions to teach parents about sports scholarships to motivate them to support their children.
Manila is one of the worlds densely populated cities, where the poorest children lack access to safe play spaces, quality education, and positive role models due to systemic poverty, overcrowding, and underfunding in education. Addressing this is crucial to foster their development, reduce school dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, and break the cycle of poverty. Investing in these children ensures a brighter future for them and their communities, creating a ripple effect of positive change.
The Move for Life Academy (MFL) project transforms the lives of children by instilling values of hard work, teamwork and positivity through sport. It nurtures and uncovers local heroes who inspire children, fostering a deep sense of self-worth and ambition. By sharing these success stories, we ignite hope and drive in the entire community. This initiative not only enhances children's futures but also unites and empowers the community, creating a powerful, sustainable force for change
The long-term impact of Move for Life Academy can be profound. By showing what is possible when people work togther, it can create generations of motivated, empowered individuals. Local heroes emerge, inspiring continuous cycles of success and fostering a strong sense of community pride. As children grow into positive role models, the entire community benefits from reduced crime rates, improved educational outcomes, and economic upliftment, all inspired and led by the community itself.
