As we welcome 2025, SWB Nicaragua (locally known as Fútbol Sin Fronteras Granada) continues to grow as a space where soccer becomes more than a game. With teamwork, leadership, and inclusivity at the heart of every program, this season has been one of joy, growth, and meaningful milestones.

Kicking Off the Year with TEAM Camp

SWB Nicaragua began the year with its highly anticipated January TEAM Camp, a week-long event that welcomed both returning participants and newcomers. The camp celebrated the principles of teamwork, inclusion, and joy with engaging activities designed to inspire growth and connection.

  • Morning Fun: The camp opened with lively games where participants showcased their skills and bonded with new teammates.
  • Treasure Hunt Extravaganza: A highlight of the event, this activity challenged the girls to complete tasks and overcome obstacles together, fostering camaraderie and confidence.
  • Skill-Building Opportunities: Enriching programs took place in various locations, including the Coliseum and Juan de Dios Pilarte Indoor Soccer Field, allowing participants to hone their soccer and leadership skills.

Year-End Celebration with Families

December brought a heartfelt close to the 2024 season, as SWB Nicaragua hosted year-end celebrations with participants and their families. These gatherings were an opportunity to reflect on achievements, share experiences, and strengthen the bonds that make the SWB community so unique. From shared meals to team performances, these celebrations embodied the spirit of unity and joy that defines Fútbol Sin Fronteras Granada.

Festival of Dreams with Bimbo

In partnership with Fundación Selección Colombia and Bimbo Centroamérica, SWB Nicaragua hosted the Champions of Dreams Festival in El Diamante. This event celebrated the second year of the Champions of Dreams initiative, breaking down social stereotypes and fostering community connections. The festival, which included active participation of parents and other SWB community members, highlighted SWB’s mission to create inclusive spaces where girls can lead and thrive.

Unveiling "One Court One Smile"

Through an exchange program facilitated by PH International and SWB Massachusetts, SWB Nicaragua staff unveiled a new soccer pitch, "One Court One Smile," in the Granada community. This initiative, led by dedicated coaches and educators, symbolized the power of cross-cultural collaboration and the transformative impact of soccer. The pitch provides a safe space for local youth to engage in sports and develop skills and underscores the importance of partnerships in creating lasting change.

Celebrating International Day of the Girl

In October, SWB Nicaragua honored International Day of the Girl with its annual "Race for the Girl" and other empowering activities. This year’s theme, "The Vision of the Future of Girls," emphasized investing in proven solutions that allow girls to realize their full potential.

  • The Race for the Girl: Participants from all program categories ran with energy and excitement, symbolizing resilience and progress.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: Through events and social media posts, SWB Nicaragua raised awareness about the barriers girls face and the transformative power of education and leadership.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on this impactful season, we are inspired by the achievements of our participants, coaches, and community. Together, we continue to create a brighter future where soccer serves as a tool for empowerment and connection.

Thank you to our supporters for making these milestones possible. Your belief in the power of play fuels our work to create spaces of belonging, growth, and joy. Here’s to an impactful 2025!
